Bankruptcy Declaration of ARV Research
On July 9, 2008, drug multinational Roche, one of the world's largest manufacturers of ARV drugs announced that they will abandon all further research on these drugs.
This decision is significant from various perspectives:
- AIDS is one of the greatest health challenges of our time. Any drug company concerned about its global responsibility should be actively joining the quest for its control.
- For a quarter of a century, toxic and deadly ARV drugs have been offered to the world's poor by Roche and other drug makers as "life savers" and "cures".
- The drug lobby has hired politicians, media, Hollywood stars and even churches to spread these lies around the world.
- They have financed drug lobby groups in the developing world that are pushing the poor governments of Africa and other regions to spend billions of their already limited resources to import these toxic drugs.
- Over almost two decades, Roche, one of the top 3 producers of ARV's, made hundreds of billions of dollars from selling their toxic drugs.
And now, only a few months after the publication of the devastating facts on this website, Roche is pulling the plug of any ARV research. While the public statement of this drug maker is still trying to emphasize the fact that it continues to sell their existing drugs, this announcement amounts to nothing less than a bancrupcy declaration for ARV research. Roche's decision confirms the scientific facts on this website in a dramatic way.
